PENRO Davao Oriental and CENRO Mati join forces with the Philippine Army for a Tree Planting initiatives

July 26, 2023 – As their support to the environmental conservation and protection efforts of the present administration, the “Kaugnay Arboretum” Tree Growing Activity of the 66th Infantry Battalion (IB), 701st Brigade (BDE) and 1104th Community Defense Center (CDC)-Philippine Army was conducted with the aim to grow 35,000 fruit bearing trees within their adopted sites.

The initiative was conducted at Sitio Tuatua, Barangay Matiao, City of Mati, Davao Oriental and was actively participated by the elements of the Philippine Army together with the personnel from DENR-XI’s Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office of Davao Oriental and the Community Environment and Natural Resources Office of Mati. A total of 400 hills of marang, rambutan, mahogany and other hardwood and fruit-bearing tree species were planted.
