Simulao IS is an indigent public school in Barangay Simulao, Boston, Davao Oriental with pupils mostly belonging to Boston-Mandaya Manobo Tribe. It is one of the state-funded schools to participate on the simultaneous Brigada Eskwela with the theme, "Brigada Eskwela: Tugon sa Hamon ng Ligtas na Balik-Aral”, a week-long repair, maintenance and clean-up activities of elementary and secondary schools in preparation for the opening of classes on August 22, 2022 for the School Year 2022-2023.

Some learners who came to school for admissions were gathered at the school’s activity area for a turn over ceremony and conduct of information drive. To magnify the knowledge and understanding of the pupils about the environment, CENRO’s Brigada Eskwela Focal Person Forester Jay Lord C Balondo spearheaded a lecture including the content and significance of the activity book and the salient features of Ecological Solid Waste Management or the RA 9003. For. Balondo introduced to the pupils the basic segregation techniques- some feasible actions that they can do to help maintain the cleanliness of the school premises.

The Brigada Eskwela is set to culminate on the 30th of August, 2022. Other stakeholders, partner agencies, civic organizations and other volunteer groups are also encouraged to participate on this activity.
