As the nation observes Environment Month, an annual celebration that takes place in June, the DENR conducts meaningful activities that foregrounds the aim of the said merriment.
This year, it’s anchored on the theme “Aksyon Para sa Natatanging Mundo, #ONLYONEEARTH, which encourages the Filipinos to continuously protect and conserve the environment as it is our only home, the sole planet in the universe that is a staunch ground of life.
In DENR XI, its PENRO Davao Oriental commenced the celebration with the parade of colors around the Government Center to disseminate information about the said celebration to the nearby offices.
PENR Officer Pablito M. Ofrecia welcomed the manpower of the province and thanked them of their vigorous participation. He accentuated that the personnel of PENRO Davao Oriental should not only be mentally fit, but also physically healthy by participating in the various activities prepared all throughout the month.
The event was also graced by the visit of Assistant Secretary for Indigenous People Jose B. Ong. The ASec thanked the DENR employees for their hard work and dedication, encouraging them further to continue serving with passion and responsibility that contribute to the sustainability of our environment and our future.
As part of the month long celebration, the PENRO prepared major events such as the pinoy games, sports, and talent contests. Said office shall also join the Nationwide Tree Planting activity of the Department on June 8, 2022 at the Mt. Hamiguitan. | reports from Donnazel Bitoy, PENRO Davao Oriental
