4 20 DENR Handog Titulo Program463 Certificate of Land Titles was given to the residents of the Municipalities of Tarragona and Boston on April 5 and 8, 2022 through the collaborative efforts of DENR-Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office of Davao Oriental, the CENR Offices of Mati and Baganga, Land Registration Authority (LRA) and the Local Government Units of the Municipalities of Tarragona and Boston.

PENR Officer Pablito M. Ofrecia underscored the priority thrusts and programs of the Department specifically on the Improved Land Administration and Management which aims to bring the land management services closer to the people. PENRO Ofrecia illustrated further that the said program aims to fast track the process and eventual issuance of Certificate of Title.

In the Municipality of Tarragona, 28 individuals from Brgy. Maganda received their Certificate of Land Title, 50 from Brgy. Tubaon, 12 from Brgy. Tomoaong, 18 from Brgy. Central, 1 from Brgy. Dadong, 4 from Brgy. Jovellar, 4 from Brgy. Lucatan, 1 from Brgy. Limot, and 1 from Brgy. Cabagayan, with a total of 119 Certificate of Land Titles. Hon. Mayor Nestor L. Uy offered to provide payment for the registration fee, assessor’s fee, and documentary stamp for the title holders of Tarragona.

In the Municipality of Boston, 315 are from Brgy. Caatihan, 7 from Brgy. Cabasagan, 2 from Brgy. Poblacion, 8 from Brgy. San Jose, and 12 residents from Brgy. Cauwayanan received their Certificate of Land Title with a total of 344. Mayor Rowell Rosit of Boston who was represented by Vice Mayor Rosalinda Adalim also shouldered the fees of the recipients.

The awarding of the certificates was witnessed by DENR XI OIC, Assistant Regional Executive Director for Technical Services For. Victor Billones, Hon. Mayor Nestor Uy of LGU Tarragona, CENR Officer of Mati- Zaldy L. Lumaan, OIC, Head of the Registry of Deeds-Ms. Janet C. Barnes, LMO III Juanito C. Damban of CENRO Mati, CENR Officer of Baganga David L. Fabila, Jr., Ms. Judith Castres representing Mayor Rowell Rosit of LGU Boston, Vice Mayor Rosalinda Adalim of LGU Boston, municipal councilors alongside thebarangay officials.

In the following days, another batch of distribution shall be conducted to other municipalities of Davao Oriental. It is expected that a total of 829 titles shall be awarded to the land owners of the province by the end of this Handog Titulo Program FY 2022.
